DevExpress WPF: Core Library

DevExpress.Wpf.Core is the foundation of the DevExpress WPF product line. The package includes an application theme engine, layout persistence services, and a number of DevExpress WPF UI controls: data editors, toolbars and menus, a tab control, and a themed window.

Most DevExpress WPF packages depend on this package, so it is usually installed as a transitive dependency. Reference it explicitly when you want the theming infrastructure and core controls without the rest of the suite.

Key Features

• Theme engine — Windows-inspired, Office-inspired, or custom themes that can be applied to the entire application or individual UI controls.
• ThemedWindow — a Window replacement with DevExpress window chrome, header items, and full theme support.
• Toolbar and Menus — controls that add toolbars, main menus, and context menu UI to your applications.
• DXTabControl — a tab control that supports DevExpress themes, tab scrolling, and drag-and-drop tab reordering.
• Binding extensions — DXBinding, DXCommand, and DXEvent markup extensions that let you write inline binding expressions without custom converters.
• WorkspaceManager — saves and restores window and control layouts between application sessions.
• Data editors — a collection of data entry controls (DevExpress WPF Data Editors).

Example 1: Apply a Theme to a Single Window

Controls inside this window use the Office2019 Colorful theme. Other windows may use a different theme.
