DevExpress WPF: Gantt Control

DevExpress.Wpf.Gantt implements the DevExpress WPF Gantt control. This control is a project planning tool that combines a task tree and a timeline chart in a single view. Bind the control to your task collection so that users can review a schedule, follow dependencies between tasks, and reschedule work with drag-and-drop operations. The control adapts to the active DevExpress theme and visually matches the rest of your application.

Key Features

• Task tree and timeline in one control — a tree list displays task data, and the Gantt area displays the same tasks as bars on a timescale.
• Task types — regular tasks, summary tasks, and milestones.
• Task dependencies — finish-to-start, start-to-start, finish-to-finish, and start-to-finish predecessor links with lag.
• Critical path — highlight the chain of linked tasks that determines the project finish date.
• Baselines — display planned dates next to actual dates to track schedule drift.
• Working time rules — define workdays, working hours, and holidays, then hide or show nonworking time in the chart.
• Strip lines — mark deadlines, iterations, and recurring intervals in the Gantt area.
• Resources — assign resources to tasks and display them next to task bars.
• Interactive editing — users can drag task bars to change dates, resize them to change duration, drag the progress handle, and draw connectors between tasks.
• Timescale zoom — switch detail levels from milliseconds to years, and stack multiple timescale rulers above the chart.
• Printing — print or export a schedule.

In this configuration, the control behaves as follows:

• Builds a task hierarchy using values in the Id and ParentId fields
• Displays tasks as bars on the diagram
• Connects tasks that reference each other through predecessor links

The control analyzes predecessor links, calculates critical paths, and highlights the tasks that affect the project finish date. Baseline bars appear below the task bars so users can compare planned dates with current dates.
